Okay, I weighed myself again and I am back at 170. Not too bad, considering that I have not been good about my diet or exercise. I decided I need to get back on track.
So it is a new day and and a new resolve.
On another note… Strive was good last night although the teacher was in a push ups kick. We did a lot of push up and this hover thing that I was really bad at. Not much cardio last night though.
Tonight was a grueling Strive. Only 10 people meant that we did three settings on each machine and had time for 3 cardio sessions. It killed my poor husband! I thought it was great. Really felt the workout tonight! So here is my husband’s plea to me “Can’t you get some of your mom friends to join us so there will be more people!”
There you have it. My husband would be very grateful to anyone who wants to join us for Strive. He usually goes on Wednesdays at 7:00 with me so that would be a preferred time for him. Here is a cute cat picture…to pull at your heartstrings.
““““““““`0000000========================================================================== (my cat’s thoughts on working out!)
I missed Strive both times it was offered at night last week, so I got back into my routine tonight (going late to bunco). It was a small class so Patti, the instructor, plotted to kill me with two stations of ab work. Yes, I truly believe that was a punishment. Especially, when she stood over me and told me that I needed to go all the way up! I told her that my babies ruined my abs, but she did not let me make excuses. By the way, Nikki she asked about you. I think you need to come with me next Monday!
I was a bit relaxed on the diet today. I don’t think Wild Cherry Pepsi slurpies and gelato are part of the diet. I also keep forgetting to eat breakfast. Tomorrow I am going to try to be better. I swear!
The Strive instructor was on a mission tonight. She wanted us to push ourselves and so I am nice and sweaty! It was a great workout tonight… I only wish I could report that I lost some more weight… 171. I contribute the extra pound to my dinner I ate before I went to the gym though.
Tonight I am going to make some Sassy Water. It is a part of the 4-day Anti-Bloat Jumpstart featured in the book Flat Belly Diet. You are supposed to make a fresh batch daily as a way to stay hydrated and calm the digestive system.
All you need is 2 liters of water, 1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger (no substitutions for powdered), 1 medium cucumber peeled and thinly sliced, I lemon, and 12 spearmint leaves. Put all ingredients together and leave overnight.
This jumpstart is supposed to shrink the middle fast and get you off the ground with confidence. I guess we will see, since this is a target area I thought I would try this diet first. We tried one recipe from the book last night…Indian Chicken in Cashew- Cilantro Sauce. It had a really good flavor. The kids did not like the green sauce, but Scott and I liked it and would make it again. We bought ingredients for two other recipes to try. Hopefully we will try them out this week.
Well Strive went well. Nikki joined me on a night were she worked us out! push ups, sit ups, and of course all the equipment. It was a great workout! My kids had fun at the kidzone until they realized that they missed pool play. So lots of tears on the way home. Thankfully, we pulled up when the ice cream man arrived. So pool play was forgotten.
So those cupcakes added 2 pounds…174. hmm.
Well, I am speechless. I have lost 1 pound in 2 weeks. That really sucks. Now the realist in me is telling myself that I did splurge a bit this weekend, but the idealist tells me that I should be further along than I am. I need to look into some more diet adjustments. I need to get better about small meals. Today I did not eat until 1 pm. I will give myself a slap on the wrist for that one. So for this week, that is a goal to eat 6 small meals and make it to the gym at least 2 more times. I am going to work on Nikki to go to Body Combat with me. Any other takers?
Today I used a lot of will power. We took the kids to Burger King on the way to the gym and I held back from ordering fries and a burger. I was tempted, but in the end I went with the salad. To top it off, I held back the urge to order the fried chicken on top and got the grilled chicken instead. This is a huge feat. I also need to pat my own back, for also ordering water instead of the soda (I had my soda at lunch). This is definitely a good sign, usually my will power will falter when I pull up to order, but I withstood.
At the gym, my husband came with me to my Strive class. I really love this class. It combines cardio with weight training and is upbeat and the energy of all the other participants is great. One class a week will definitely become part of my routine. I just leave so happy (who would have believed I would say that).
I definitely think that today is one of those days where I really think I am making progress.
